The Zonta Club of Harrisburg-Hershey celebrates it's 30th Anniversary on Thursday, March 11, 2010. The Zonta Club of Harrisburg Hershey was recently recognized by Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland and Perry Counties at their 1st Annual Evening of Excellence Dinner as the non-profit organization who has exemplified advocacy through education and mentoring; innovative efforts to assist victims of domestic violence; and on-going support to end violence against women for the 19 years that DVS/CP has provided services in this area. The Zonta Club of Harrisburg Hershey awarded grants totalling $6,000 to five local agencies in May 2009 in support of their efforts to improve the status of women in the local community. The Club also awarded a $500 Young Women in Public Affairs scholarship to a high school student who demonstrated strong leadership skills and awareness of issues facing women internationally.
